From the Principal

Dear East Central families,

As you may know, we lost a beloved member of the East Central High School community, student Marquise Mullins. We are all deeply saddened by this sudden and tragic loss. Every student is an integral part of the Cardinal family, and while this will be a difficult time for all of us, we will get through it together.

As a school community, it is important that we provide the supports that our students need to help them as they react to and process this tragedy. Our guidance department and administration have been working closely with district staff and Youth Care of Oklahoma to ensure that trained counselors are available to talk with your children, answer questions and address concerns.

Your child may have some unresolved feelings, or he/she may be grieving and in need of consolation. You can help your child by listening carefully, affirming his/her feelings, and answering questions honestly. Our students need to know that their feelings, concerns, and reactions are normal and to be expected, and that it will take time for them to come to terms with the loss of their classmate.

If you have any questions, and would like more information or access to resources for your child, please contact me directly at 918-746-9700 or delgaad@tulsaschools.org.

 Sincerely,

Principal Mike Crase
